Amplitude
Connect
Connect Amplitude from the terminal. Pass --help for the flags Amplitude accepts.
praxen integration connect --type amplitudeThe project's API key and secret key from Settings → API Keys in Amplitude; Praxen Inc. finds the data region.
Connect an Amplitude project with its API key and secret key.
- In Amplitude, open Settings → API Keys and choose the project in the project menu. Copy the key on the API Keys tab. On the Secret Keys tab, click Show next to the secret key and copy it. If there is no Show, Amplitude does not keep the secret: use the one saved when the key was created, or ask an Amplitude manager or admin to generate a new secret key.
- Paste both keys into Praxen Inc. Praxen Inc. checks them and finds the project's data region, US or EU. Each project is its own connection; connect another project with its own keys.
Query Amplitude events, segmentation, funnels, retention, and chart annotations through Praxen Inc., and request other Amplitude API calls. Changes, such as new chart annotations, require your approval.
Praxen Inc. checks the event volume of each project once a day for unusual changes.
Amplitude's API cannot list saved charts or dashboards, so Praxen Inc. does not watch them. An agent can request a chart's data by its ID when you share the chart's link.
Amplitude reports times in the project's time zone but does not say which zone. Praxen Inc. works out the project's current offset from UTC. When a clock change, such as the start or end of daylight saving time, falls inside the period Praxen Inc. checks, the hourly results before the change are marked unknown instead of placed an hour off. For a project set to UTC, this can affect up to a week after each clock change in Europe.
Praxen Inc. uses these Amplitude APIs. Amplitude explains its keys in its authentication guide.
| Amplitude API | What it unlocks |
|---|---|
GET /api/2/events/list | Checks the keys, finds the data region, and lists event types with this week's volume. |
GET /api/2/events/segmentation | Reads event volume, unique users, and averages over time, filtered and split by a property. |
GET /api/2/funnels | Computes conversion between ordered events and the median time between steps. |
GET /api/2/retention | Measures how many users come back after a starting event. |
GET /api/2/realtime | Aligns the daily event-volume check with the project's time zone. |
GET /api/3/annotations, POST /api/3/annotations | Lists chart annotations and, with your approval, creates one. |
amplitudeApi | Calls any Amplitude API path under /api/, such as saved chart results; calls that change data require safety review and approval. |
Disconnecting deletes both keys from Praxen Inc. and leaves them in Amplitude. Chart annotations that you approved stay on your charts.
Disconnect
Disconnecting stops every sync and check and deletes the credentials Praxen Inc. held. Everything Praxen Inc. set up in Amplitude is removed as well; nothing is left behind.
